Following the groundbreaking launch of Zappy Eco Ultimate Antiseptic Wipes, Freshening is proud to announce the expansion of our Eco range with two major innovations— an upgraded resealable packaging and the introduction of Zappy All Natural Biodegradable Food Contact Wipes in an even greener format.

A New Standard for Sustainability in Wet Wipes

When we first introduced Zappy All Natural Biodegradable Food Contact Wipes in 2016, it was the first in the region to be 100% natural, 100% food-grade, and made with 100% biodegradable paper material. Now, we are taking this pioneering product to the next level with a new eco version. While the contents remain as eco-friendly as ever, the wrapper has undergone a revolutionary transformation— crafted with significantly reduced plastic, incorporating kraft paper packaging material to minimize environmental impact.

This development is part of our continuous journey to push the boundaries of sustainability without compromising on quality and efficacy.

The Eco range falls under our Ecosphere initiative, launched at the start of 2024, which serves as a guiding framework for all our green innovations and future product developments.

Overcoming Challenges: Balancing Sustainability with Performance

Wet wipes, by nature, require moisture retention to maintain effectiveness. At this stage of innovation, achieving a 0% plastic wrapper remains a challenge due to the necessity of ensuring product longevity and preventing leaks. This challenge is especially pronounced for resealable packaging, as the opening requires durability to maintain the product’s integrity. However, after extensive rounds of R&D, we have found the best possible solution— a reduced plastic packaging that offers a lower environmental impact while preserving the product’s lifespan, usability, and effectiveness.

This breakthrough was entirely designed in-house by our new product development team. By continuously investing in research, we strive to develop solutions that reduce plastic usage while maintaining the highest quality standards our consumers trust.
