Quality Control & Risk Mitigation

Quality Control Research & Development (R&D)

A Quality Control & Research & Development Perspective on Building Trust Through System-Driven Quality

In the hygiene and wet wipes industry, quality is not something that can be “inspected in” at the end of production. It must be systematically designed, controlled, and safeguarded at every stage of manufacturing.

Within our organisation, Quality Control (QC) and Research & Development (R&D) operate as an integrated technical function. Together, they ensure that every product is engineered for safety, validated through data, and consistently produced under tightly controlled conditions.

MULTI-LAYER QUALITY ASSURANCE

Our quality system is structured across multiple layers to prevent variation at source, detect deviations in real time, and ensure every batch meets defined specifications before release.

1. Pre-Production Verification – Controlling Inputs Before Production Begins

Quality assurance begins before any material enters the production line. This stage is focused on eliminating risk at its origin.

Key controls include:

  • Raw material verification against approved technical specifications (substrates, active ingredients, packaging films, preservatives, etc.)
  • Our production uses a highly controlled 8-stage purification system to produce deionized water of ultra-high purity. This water acts as the base medium for formulations, ensuring minimal ionic contamination, improved product stability, and consistent microbial control. It is a critical input that directly influences both safety and performance of wet wipes.
  • Equipment sanitation validation to ensure all contact surfaces and production lines are properly cleaned and contamination-free before use
  • Job sheet validation to confirm formulation accuracy, batch parameters, and approved manufacturing instructions

This stage is critical. Product performance and stability are highly dependent on raw material consistency and formulation integrity. Any deviation at this point can significantly impact downstream quality, making strict incoming control a foundational safeguard.

2. In-Process Quality Control – Real-Time Monitoring & Immediate Correction

During manufacturing, quality is actively monitored through structured checkpoints embedded within the production flow.

Key elements include:

  • Continuous operator-level quality checks at defined intervals
  • Digital recording of QC data for full traceability and audit readiness
  • Immediate corrective action protocols triggered when deviations are detected
  • Integration of QC checkpoints directly into production workflows to ensure no blind spots in monitoring

This real-time control system ensures that any deviation is identified and corrected immediately, preventing non-conforming material from progressing further in the process. From an R&D standpoint, this also generates valuable process data that supports continuous optimisation of formulation behaviour and production stability.

3. Final Release Inspection – Comprehensive Batch Validation Before Market Release

Before any product is released to the market, a structured final inspection process is conducted to ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.

This includes:

  • Batch verification against product specifications
  • Packaging integrity inspection to ensure sealing strength, leakage prevention, and transport durability
  • Product conformity checks such as sheet count, moisture level, and physical appearance consistency
  • Microbial testing and microbiological compliance verification
  • Each batch is subjected to microbiological assessment to ensure it meets required safety thresholds, confirming absence of harmful microbial contamination and compliance with internal and regulatory hygiene standards

Only batches that fully pass all physical, chemical, and microbiological requirements are approved for release. This ensures that every shipment leaving the facility meets stringent safety expectations required.

AUTOMATION WITH HUMAN OVERSIGHT

Modern hygiene manufacturing relies on automation to achieve consistency, reduce variability, and improve process control. However, automation is always supported by trained QC oversight to ensure proper interpretation and intervention when required.

Our systems include:

  • Automated packing and sealing systems to ensure consistent output and reduce human handling variability
  • Controlled machine parameters via HMI systems (Human-Machine Interface) to maintain stable production conditions across shifts
  • Standardised automation frameworks that ensure repeatability across production batches

Key equipment includes:

  • Auto carton erectors
  • Automated packing machines
  • Leak test machines

Automation is not only about efficiency, it is a core quality enabler.

RISK CONTROL & SAFETY ASSURANCE
Risk management is not treated as a separate function, but as an embedded part of the manufacturing system. Every stage is designed to prevent contamination, product failure, and environmental exposure risks before they occur.

Key controls include:

  • Metal detection systems to eliminate physical contamination risks
  • Leak testing systems to verify packaging integrity and prevent product failure during distribution
  • Controlled waste handling protocols to prevent cross-contamination within production zones
  • Controlled storage conditions to maintain product stability and prevent environmental degradation

These controls are governed under strict SOP frameworks.

CONCLUSION: QUALITY AS AN ENGINEERED SYSTEM OF TRUST

In modern hygiene manufacturing, quality is not a final inspection step, it is an engineered system built across every stage of production.

Our integrated QC and R&D framework combines:

  • Multi-layer preventive quality assurance
  • Real-time in-process monitoring and correction
  • Comprehensive final release validation, including microbial testing
  • Automated manufacturing systems with human oversight
  • Embedded risk control and contamination prevention mechanisms

This structured approach ensures that every product delivered is consistent, safe, and compliant with the highest industry standards.
